昨夜降った大雨が上がり、そして雲も引き、いつの間にか晴天が戻っていました。でも少し寒い。秋のような空気感です。
Last night’s rain has dried, the clouds have withdrawn, and now the clear sky has returned. But it is quite cool. The air feels like the Fall.
そんな中、私たちはいつもの森へ。
In the mean time, we head to the Forest.
名もなき森には、名もなき樹々がわんさかいます。
In the nameless Forest, stand countless nameless trees.
その中でも、私たちがよく立ち寄るのが、ここ。。。
Out of all those trees, we come often to this one…
なんという樹でしょう？
知りません。知らなくて良いのです。そんなことは気になりませんから。
What kind of tree is it?
We don’t know. We don’t need to know. We just don’t care about that.
この樹の木陰に入るのが好きです。座ってみたり。。。
We like to go under this tree. We may sit…
座らなかったり。。。人には人の、犬には犬の、時間の過ごし方があるようです。
Or, not sit… Every person, and every dog, has its own way to spend time with the tree.
隣のこの枯れ木も、好きです。どれくらいの月日をこうして立っているのでしょう？
知りません。知らなくて良いのです。そんなことは気になりませんから。
And the dead tree next to it. We like this, too. How long has it been here like this?
We don’t know. We don’t need to know. We just don’t care about that.
そして気がつくといつも、足はこの樹に向かっています。これがArbutus(イチゴノキ属)と呼ばれることは、知っています。
朝日が当たっているのを見ることが多いですが、今日は午後の光を浴びて、少し違う雰囲気を醸し出しています。
And, sooner or later, our feet are heading towards this tree. We do know that this tree is called Arbutus.
Most often, we see it reflecting the morning sun; but today, it is under the afternoon light, throwing off a different aura.
毎日通る道でも、毎日違うものが見えます。これが、やみつきに！
Even if we followed the same paths, we see something different every day. Beware, this can be addicting!
