芝のままにしてあった土 Soil under the original lawn
ふた冬、落ち葉でカバーした土（夏には鶏の庭だった）Soil under 2 winters of maple leaf mulch (and a summer home for the chickens)
新しく植えた木々のために、水と肥料になる有機物を入れるお堀を作っていた時に気付いた事。写真ではよく見えないけど、圧倒的な土の違いです。１メートル離れただけの隣同士の場所で。こんな短期間でここまで改良されるとは、さすが自然のパワー。鳥たちが大はしゃぎするほどのミミズもいました。食べるなよって言ったのに、思いきり食べられた。
A discovery while digging mulch moats (to catch water and provide nutrients) for newly planted trees. It might be hard to see in the photos, but the difference in the soils is striking, only 1 meter apart. This much creation in such little time… “Nature’s creative force is the only force we can be sure of.” There were more than enough warms to get the birds over-the-moon excited; despite my plea not to eat them, they ate so many….
