でも夜になれば、シュッと元気を取り戻します。
So HOT…. But when the evening comes, they will be revived.
ついに本格的な夏日和です。主達はこの様子。
Summer has finally arrived. Here are the shibas of the Shiba Forest.
伸びたい放題伸びていたトマト達が、カボチャの様に地を這い出した。トマトのジャングル。いくら何でも手に負えなくなるので、わき芽かきと剪定を少しした。剪定の仕方もいろいろあるみたいだけど、出来るだけ自然に育って欲しいなあ。来年は広い所に何本か植えて、どこまで大きくなるのか試してみようっと。
Tomatoes that were growing freely have started to crawl on the ground like squashes. It’s a tomato jungle! Some of the suckers and side stems were pruned so they don’t get too out of control. There seems to be a lot of different ways to prune tomato plants, but it would be nice to see them growing as naturally as possible. Maybe next year, a few plants could be allowed to grow freely as they please – wonder how big they get!

野菜の森 Vegetable forest
ズッキーニ達も大きくなった。 Zucchinis grew, too.

ジャガイモは枯れてから２週間程で収穫します。 Potatoes will be harvested in a couple of weeks after the foliage dies down.
マメの実が見えて来た。 Tiny bean pods are starting to appear.

野菜達もすくすく育ち、畑らしい姿になってきました。成長を見守りながらサポートしていきます。そしてもちろん、おいしい野菜をいただきまーす！
The plants have grown, and the place is looking like a real garden. All that is left to do is to admire and support their progress. And of course, enjoy tasty vegetables!

長い事ただの細い枝だった冬柿、ついに葉を出しました。元気に育ちますように。
The persimmon that was just a little twig for a long time, is finally leafing out. May it grow big and strong!
ズッキーニ、ブロッコリー、ガーリックの芽とグリンピースのソテー。パープルじゃがバター。 Sauteed zucchini with broccoli, garlic scapes, and peas. Buttered purple new potatoes.
ズッキーニの季節がやってきました。これからは当分、ズッキーニづくしだな。
Here comes the zucchini! Expect to have zucchini for every meal now 🙂
