今日柴の森で咲いている花々の、ほんの一部を紹介します。 形も色もユニークで、個性豊かな花達。皆それぞれ奇麗だね。
Introducing a small part of the flowers that are in bloom today at Shiba Forest. Each with its unique shape and colour, all are full of individuality. Every one is just as beautiful.

連日真夏の様な暑さが続きます。カラカラの土と強い日照りにギブしている葉っぱ達も多い中、この一角だけいつ見てもピンピン元気。秘密はこれ、土の中に埋まった壷（growoya.com）。この中に入れた水がゆっくりとしみ出して、土の中の水分を保ってくれる優れもの。水の蒸発も防げるので、干ばつで水不足のこれからには大切な秘密兵器です。
Hot summer weather continues…. Among the many greens giving up in the heat and dried up soil, this corner is always green and lively. The secret is this – a terracotta pot buried in the soil (growoya.com). Water slowly seeps out of it, keeping the soil moist from the inside, with worry of evaporation. It may be the secret weapon for the drought times ahead.

新しい地面を引っ掻くのに大忙し Busily scratching the new ground
カボチャ畑が必要だったので、チキン達は将来の果樹園へ引っ越しました。ここでも土造りに力を貸してくれる事でしょう。
The squashes had to go in, so the chickens moved to the future orchard. Here, too, they will help build the soil.
